Guelph Transit set a mandate to adopt technology that could enable more accessible and efficient mobility for its residents. Seeing an opportunity to improve their manual dial-a-ride operations and service delivery with a modernized platform, the implementation of RideCo provided a roadmap to transform the city's transit system for the future.
Building on the success of the modernized Mobility Services program, Guelph Transit expanded its partnership with RideCo to power its On-demand, Sunday, and Holiday programs, which are all integrated with the broader fixed-route network. Customers have increased booking options and can independently schedule their trips on demand and in advance using the Passenger App or through the call center. In addition to automating reservations and scheduling, RideCo’s platform continuously optimizes rides booked within the system to ensure the most productive route combinations. The automation and optimization of operations have enabled Guelph Transit to deliver services that are more flexible and future proof.
