2024 has been a significant year at RideCo. With a focus on market growth and the expansion of existing RideCo-powered services, we’ve had some exciting successes that have furthered our mission to make transit more accessible for all. As a leader in the market, RideCo is well positioned to drive the shift towards cloud-based paratransit and microtransit software, which is happening right now across North America.

Driving Market Growth with Proven Technology

Transit agencies have started to see the proven success of modernized paratransit and microtransit services, in no small part thanks to RideCo’s industry-leading technology—and our unparalleled approach to customer success. The early adopters have instilled confidence in others, and now more agencies are exploring how on-demand transit technology can provide mobility solutions that improve access to their transit ecosystem, while transforming how these agencies operate and deliver their paratransit and microtransit services.

We’ve signed new transit agencies and customers in 6 new states and provinces this year—representing significant market growth. In many of these cases, RideCo replaced a legacy paratransit provider. These include:

  • Sun Tran’s Sun Shuttle paratransit program in Tucson, launching in early 2025
  • Senior Citizens United Community Services of Camden County (SCUCS)’s SEN-HAN senior and disabled transportation service in New Jersey
  • Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA)’s Direct Access paratransit program and Micro-Link program in California

Among many others, these agencies have realized the impact that cloud-based paratransit software can have on improving operational efficiency across booking, scheduling, dispatching, and eligibility management functions, dramatically decreasing the burden often put on agency staff. With greater efficiency, they can provide better service for their riders.

RideCo has also made some exciting inroads into the private sector. One of our newest private sector partners, LNG Canada, is a joint venture company comprised of Shell, PETRONAS, PetroChina, Mitsubishi Corporation, and KOGAS, and RideCo is powering their employee commuter shuttles in Kitimat, British Columbia. This represents one of many new customers and implementations within the transportation demand management (TDM) market, and an innovative new use case for our on-demand transit technology.

Of course, many of these wins have been made possible by the development of relationships with new channel partners, including 8 across both transportation network companies (TNCs) and fleet operators.

Building Trust and Partnership Through Customer Success

Our technology can only benefit our customers if they’re empowered to use it effectively. That’s where the RideCo Customer Success (CS) team comes in. We’ve developed strong relationships with our clients—relationships built on ongoing trust and long-term partnership. Along with our technology, the unmatched effort of the RideCo CS team is one of the core components of our overall success.

This was accomplished despite an extremely busy year, with the CS team launching an incredible 53 new service launches and expansions across the United States and Canada. Some key achievements from the year include the following:

  • 53 new services launches and expansions
  • 24 paratransit services modernized
  • 4.8/5 average ride rating across all programs
  • 97% customer retention rate
  • 83 net promoter score (NPS), far surpassing the 40 NPS SaaS industry average
  • 27 customer success stories told through case studies, webinars, seminars, and videos

These achievements represent the track record of our CS team, showcasing that they offer service levels that set standards within the industry. Perhaps the boldest demonstration of this in 2024 was with the unprecedented implementation timelines of two large-scale paratransit services:

  • Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA)’s SEPTA Access program launched in 4.5 months, with 411 total available vehicles across a 716 sq. mi. area
  • Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA)’s RideKC Freedom program launched in 3 months, with 80 total available vehicles across a 300 sq. mi. area
The modernization of our paratransit system has been one of the fastest large-scale deployments in SEPTA’s history. … [We] are thrilled to immediately see such a positive impact on the operators and SEPTA support staff. … RideCo’s software along with their team’s relentless focus on our success, empowers us to operate more efficiently.

Cassandra West, Assistant Chief Operating Officer, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transit Agency
We've moved into a new era with a more modernized technological solution, and we were able to set up the platform and launch in 90 days. As a program that's very structured with policy and regulations, ADA paratransit is not an easy service to provide. To be able to configure and test it, get training in, and launch in 90 days was incredibly impressive and a partnership effort with RideCo and zTrip.

Growing the RideCo Team

2024 saw the RideCo team continue to expand across engineering, go-to-market, and customer success functions. This has done a huge amount to help us continue innovating on and building a product that meets the needs of agencies, increase our market penetration, while also delivering the high standard of customer success RideCo is known for. This year we added:

  • 29 full-time hires

Looking Ahead to 2025

2024 has been an exciting time to be along for RideCo journey. As we continue to iterate on our product and deploy more RideCo-powered paratransit and microtransit services, the greater impact we’ll have on improving mobility in cities and communities across North America.
